Mayor Dixon Inaugural Ball
Baltimore, MD, December, 2007 — EVENT TECH is selected to provide the lighting production services for the Mayor Dixon Inaugural Ball at the
Baltimore Convention Center. The Inaugural Ball, which attracted a crowd of over 2,800 people and featured musical act Frankie Beverly &
Maze, was a huge success in celebration of the first elected woman mayor of Baltimore. For the event, Event Tech provided an ambient room
lighting package that centered on the 3 diamond-shaped chandeliers and
accented the event theme Jewels of Baltimore. The lighting package
included: 700' of truss, 301 conventional fixtures, 40 moving lights, and 77 LED fixtures.
Major League Soccer Cup
Washington, D.C., November, 2007 — EVENT TECH is chosen to provide full production services for the MLS Cup Game Halftime Show and Awards
Ceremony at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. For the Halftime show, Event Tech provided a concert stage and truss roof system, a concert
line-array audio system, and video level stage lighting. The Halftime
show included a musical performance by international artist Jimmy Eat
World. For the Awards Ceremony, Event Tech designed and implemented two quick-set stages to be positioned and built on the field in the four
minute window allotted. The event was a great success. This is the
third time the MLS Cup Game has been in Washington, D.C. and the second time Event Tech has been a part of it.
Walters Art Museum Annual Fundraiser Gala
Baltimore, MD, October, 2007 — EVENT TECH provides audio, lighting, and power distribution for the Walters Art Museum Annual Fundraiser Gala in Baltimore, MD. This year, the annual event took place under a 60’x150’ clearspan tent. EVENT TECH supplied a distributed audio system, generator and power distribution for the entire event, and an LED lighting package that included a 100’ truss hung in the center of the tent with 65 LED fixtures for stage lighting, dance floor light, and ambient room light. Because of the LED fixtures, the event was able to cut their generator size needs by half compared to previous years. The event was a huge success, with raising money to help pay the annual operation budget of the Museum. This was the 10th year EVENT TECH has provided production services, and the first of many years to come that The Walters was able to go “green”.
2nd Annual Virgin Festival
Baltimore, MD, August, 2007 — EVENT TECH is selected for the second year to provide production services for the Virgin Festival in Baltimore, MD. The two day Festival attracted a crowd of over 45,000 people each day, and featured headliner acts The Police and Smashing Pumpkins. For the festival, EVENT TECH supplied the "South Stage", a 116'w x 50'd structure with 2 level wings and 40'h roof system, ADA seating risers, rolling risers, 4000' of bike rack barricade, LED site lighting, three audio systems, and cable ramps throughout the event site.
WNBA All-Star Game Welcome Party
Washington, D.C., July, 2007 — EVENT TECH provides full production services for the WNBA All-Star Game Welcome Party and Concert at the Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. The event, which drew a crowd of over 800 people, included the best players in the WNBA and a musical performance from Vanessa Carlton. For the party EVENT TECH provided: a concert line-array audio system, conventional and moving light package, LED fixtures to accent the venue architecture, projection with a 3-camera IMAG package, staging and ground-supported circle trusses for client signage.
Girl Scouts 95th Anniversary Sing-Along
Washington, D.C., June, 2007 — EVENT TECH is selected to be the general contractor for all production services for the Girl Scouts of America 95th Anniversary Sing-Along on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The Sing-along had a record-breaking attendance of over 175,000 people. EVENT TECH's services included: a 54 box concert audio system, staging, audio fly towers, stage lighting, LED wall rigging, mobile power, bike rack barricade, and 17,000 square feet of interlocking flooring to protect the National Mall grounds.
Johns Hopkins University Commencement Baltimore, MD, May 2007— EVENT TECH is contracted to provide audio reinforcement and stage lighting for the 2007 Johns Hopkins University Commencement ceremonies on the Homewood Field Stadium in Baltimore, MD. This is the seventh year EVENT TECH has provided production services for these commencement ceremonies.
March for Peace
Washington, D.C., January, 2007 — EVENT TECH provides full production services for the March for Peace anti-war rally on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. According to the March organizers, the March attracted over 500,000 people to protest the war in Iraq. Guest speakers for the March included: Reverend Jesse Jackson, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, and Jane Fonda, among many others. EVENT TECH was the general contractor for the March. Services included a 60 Box Audio System, staging, press risers, scaffold fly towers, bike rack barricade, generators, forklifts, and cable ramps.
Governor Martin O’Malley Inaugural Ball
Baltimore, MD, January, 2007 — EVENT TECH is selected to supply production services for the Maryland Governor’s Inauguration Ball at the Baltimore Convention Center. The contract, which included lighting for seven stages of entertainment, ambient room lighting for two floors of the Convention Center, five audio systems, four stages, rolling risers for five acts, and a Marley dance floor was finalized four days prior to load in. The event went off without a hitch, providing an unforgettable night for Governor O’Malley and all 8,000 guests.
ACLU Membership Conference
Washington, D.C., October 2006 — EVENT TECH is requested to provide full production services for the 2006 American Civil Liberties Union Membership Conference at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC. The three day conference included speeches from Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, Tucker Carlson, and many more influential leaders, along with musical performances by Maxie Priest and Deborah Harry. EVENT TECH’s services for the conference included: audio reinforcement for the general sessions and a private viewing of Road to Guantanamo, stage and ambient room lighting, and four projection screens with video switching of a three camera IMAG package. This is the third year of the Membership Conference, and EVENT TECH has been providing services since the Conference inception.
EMBARQ Company Launch Las Vegas, NV, June, 2006 — EVENT TECH provides technical direction and full production services for the EMBARQ company launch at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The new publicly traded company is a spin-off from Sprint Nextel Corp. to run the fortune 500 company's local telephone operations. EMBARQ was able to highlight it's offerings and services to an arena size audience with the assistance of EVENT TECH's 30 speaker VerTec line array audio system, 82 moving lights, 425 conventional fixtures, and a 12x16 rear projection screen.
U.S. Army 231st
Birthday Concert Pentagon, Arlington, VA, June,
2006 — EVENT TECH is contracted to provide full
production services for the U.S. Army 231st Birthday Concert
in the center courtyard of the Pentagon. For the event,
EVENT TECH built a concert stage and roof system, provided
video level lighting for the US Army TV, a VerTec line-array
audio system, and mobile power distribution. The concert
featured marine-turned-country-star Josh Gracin.
International
Prayer for Peace Washington, D.C., April, 2006 —
EVENT TECH provides all staging, towers, and lighting
for the closing ceremonies at the International Prayer
for Peace conference on the Georgetown University campus
in Washington, D.C. The event marks the 20th anniversary
of Pope John Paul II's historic interfaith gathering for
peace in Assisi, and marks the first time the event takes
place in the United States. A few of EVENT TECH structures
for the event included: a 68x36 4tier main stage, two
25'h scaffold fly towers, and a 28'x21' 3tier press riser,
among many others.
International
ANSWER Rally Washington, D.C., September
24, 2005 — EVENT TECH is asked to provide full production
services for the International ANSWER Antiwar Rally on
the Ellipse in Washington, D.C. Over 300,000people were
in attendance at the rally making it the largest antiwar
rally since the war began. Event Tech, being the preferred
production services vendor for International ANSWER, provided
all staging for the rally with four 45’ h audio
fly towers, all generators, and a 36 Element JBL VerTec
speaker system with 12 additional EAW KF750 speakers for
delay locations.
Operation Cease
Fire Concert Washington, D.C, September
24, 2005 — EVENT TECH provides all staging and towers
for the Operation Cease Fire Concert on the Washington
Monument Grounds at the National Mall. The 11 hour concert
was attended by over 100,000 people and featured 15 bands.
Equipment for the concert included 2 mobile stages, 8
onstage rolling risers, 6 audio fly towers, two 3-tier
press risers, and 1,200 feet of barricade.
2005 ArtScape
Festival Baltimore, MD, July 2005 —
EVENT TECH is contracted for the 3rd year to be the sole
staging and rigging supplier of the annual ArtScape Festival
in downtown Baltimore, MD. ArtScape is the largest festival
of the performing, visual, and literary arts in the region.
EVENT TECH equipment included: SL320 and SL250 mobile
stages, rolling risers, 32’ high fly towers with
a 14’ high VIP level, a custom two-level mix tower,
and many more peripheral risers and signage towers.
1st World Guitar
Congress Towson, MD, June 2004 —
EVENT TECH is the sole outside production services provider
for the 1st World Guitar Congress at the Towson University
in Towson, MD. The 7-day conference included performances
by some of the most acclaimed guitarists in the world,
including: Les Paul, Dick Dale, Eric Johnson, John Scofield,
and Marty Friedman, and many more. EVENT TECH provided
concert audio, stage lighting, rigging, and soft goods
for the two evening concerts in the Towson Center Arena
and audio in the Stephens Hall Theatre.
Maryland Science
Center Re-opening Baltimore, MD, May–June
2004 — EVENT TECH provides production services for
two events to celebrate the grand re-opening of the Maryland
Science Center. The first event was the public opening
that included two days of free outdoor concerts that featured
They Might Be Giants and Dan Zane. EVENT TECH supplied
an SL250 mobile stage and line-array audio system for
the concerts. The second event, two weeks later, was the
black tie Solstice Gala that took place throughout the
Center with a performance from Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and
Cirque Cabaret. For this, EVENT TECH supplied a line-array
audio system, lighting for the stage and dance floor,
all rigging for the production, and a custom stage built
over the information desk.
National Monopoly
Tournament Atlantic City, NJ, October
2003 EVENT TECH provides full production services
for the 2003 National Monopoly Tournament at Showboat
The Mardi Gras Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. Due
to no structural rigging available in the room EVENT TECH
built a ground-supported truss grid system above the playing
arena to support all lighting, audio reinforcement, and
IMAG screens. The production was complemented with a three-camera
shoot, eight High End moving lights, and a classic 55SH
microphone lowered from above for Mr. Monopoly.
Women's World
Cup Washington, D.C., September
2003 EVENT TECH receives contract to supply field
foldback, wireless systems, and audio mixing for the opening
ceremony of the Womens World Cup Soccer Game at
RFK Memorial Stadium. Whats more, EVENT TECH provided
the same package for the opening ceremony and halftime
show of the Womens United Soccer Associations
inaugural game, also at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C.,
in April 2001.
Maryland Governor's
Inauguration Annapolis,
MD, January 2003 EVENT TECH is selected to supply
audio reinforcement for the Maryland Governors Inauguration
Ceremony of Robert Ehrlich. Thousands of people turned
out for the ceremony at the steps of the State House in
downtown Annapolis and for the Parade that followed the
swearing in.
Toys R Us
Times Square New
York City, November 2002 EVENT TECH receives contract
to provide full production services for the 2002 Toys
R Us Parade in Times Square. Along with a concert sound
system for the required 3 blocks of coverage along Broadway,
EVENT TECH oversaw the 30 wireless microphone and in-ear-monitor
systems for the BaHa Men, The World Famous Rockettes and
many other entertainers. Over 10,000 people attended the
event and parade that featured life-size cartoon characters
including Spongebob Squarepants, Powerpuff Girls, Snoopy,
and the Rugrats. This is the second time EVENT TECH has
made this journey, in 2001 EVENT TECH was the sole provider
of production services for the grand opening ceremony
and parade of the flagship store.
Hanes Tag
Retirement United
States, October 2002 EVENT TECH provides full production
services in 5 cities for the official retirement of the
T-shirt tag, and the national product launch of the HANES
TAGLESS T SHIRT. In a national marketing effort, HANES
staged retirement ceremonies for the tag in New York City,
Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, and Comfort, TX on October
17, 2002. EVENT TECH was on hand in each location being
the national provider of audio, lighting, staging, video,
temporary power, and rigging equipment. In Times Square
EVENT TECH supplied rigging equipment for a twenty-foot
tall T-shirt, and for the 3 x 4 tag to ascend
forty-five feet in the air.
Barney the
Dinosaur in Concert New
York City, August 2002 EVENT TECH delivers full
production services for the national tour kick-off concert
of Barney & Friends in Lower Manhattans Historic
Battery Park. The 30minute performance celebrated Barneys
10th year on PBS and gave 10,000 children in New York
a chance to see the purple T-Rex, along with friends BJ
and Baby Bop, live. EVENT TECH services for the concert
included audio reinforcement, staging, and power distribution.
Girl Scouts
of America Washington,
D.C., June 2002 EVENT TECH supplies staging, lighting,
rigging, crowd control, and power distribution for the
Girl Scouts of America 90th Anniversary Celebration at
the base of the Washington Monument on the National Mall.
Over 100,000 Girl Scouts from across the country attended
the celebration which featured a sing-a-long with the
entire audience. Due to the limited time allotted for
set-up, EVENT TECH utilized its SL320 Mobile Stage
as the main stage. This system allowed easy access fo
rigging of the audio, stage lighting, and custom scrims.

University
of Maryland Terrapins Baltimore,
MD, April 2002 EVENT TECH provides production services
for a lunchtime rally to congratulate the University of
Maryland Terrapins on their NCAA Championship at the steps
of City Hall in Baltimore, MD. Production services for
the event included: a 26 box virtual-array sound system
to cover the nearly 10,000 people in attendance; a SL320
Mobile Stage, a two tier press riser, and a Movie Unit
generator to power the entire event. With only three days
notice, along with an already busy production schedule,
EVENT TECH shined under the pressure. The load in began
at 4 am, show time at noon, and the site was clear by
5 pm. All on the producing end were pleased and impressed
with the speed and accuracy of the production services.
Towson University
Presidential Inauguration Towson,
MD, March 2002 EVENT TECH supplies production services
for the Presidential Inauguration of Mark Perkins, 11th
President of Towson University at the Towson Center Arena.
Production services included: audio coverage of the 4500
seat venue; onstage monitoring of three musical groups
and an inaugural platform party of 61; and reinforcement
of the Towson University bell tower at Stephens Hall,
1/2 mile from the venue. For the event, EVENT TECH featured:
the new EAW KF760 line array speaker system, a Yamaha
PM4000 house console, and Shure U4 wireless microphones
with PSM700 in-ear-monitor systems.
Walters Art
Museum Grand Reopening Baltimore,
MD, October 2001 After being partially closed for
three years during construction, The Walters Art Museum
celebrated its Grand Re-opening with a month of events,
all the while keeping EVENT TECH close at hand as the
production services contractor. EVENT TECH amazed all
in attendance at the Fundraiser Gala with a custom star-shaped
truss system that spanned 130 feet in width above the
guests during dinner.
